For many years friends, family members and numerous visitors to Selwood have asked me when I was going to write a cookbook. After assembling favorite recipes of my mother, Lucille Smith Stewart, and my mother-in-law, Mary Helen Holmes Hill, I have added an offering of some of my original recipes as well as a compilation of signature dishes of other family members and friends.
Beyond Selwood’s Door is my summary of my love for Selwood Farm’s rich history and the scores of people who have come inside the Country House to enjoy good food, friendship, and fun-filled times at various events we have hosted at our facility.
